At Evolved Research and Consulting, we’re proud to support the next generation of environmental professionals by offering meaningful internship opportunities that provide hands-on experience across our projects. This summer, we were delighted to welcome Harry Adams a Geography student from the University of Exeter to our team.
We believe that nurturing early-career talent is essential for shaping effective, evidence-based environmental solutions. Below Harry reflects on his time with us and shares insights into the work he contributed to during his placement.
"Over the summer, I had the opportunity to intern with Evolved Research and Consulting, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As an environmental consultancy with a strong focus on marine ecosystems, the work has deepened my passion for ocean sustainability and supported both my BA Geography degree at the University of Exeter and my aspirations for a future career in the environmental sector.
During my time with the team, I was involved in a range of projects, from writing literature reviews on solutions to Abandoned, Lost, or otherwise Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG), to analysing large datasets and presenting the findings through graphs and charts. I also contributed to stakeholder mapping and helped develop surveys for a material flow analysis. These tasks not only enhanced my research and technical skills but also gave me valuable insight into how evidence-based consultancy can drive positive change in marine policy and practice."
We all wish Harry the best of the luck with the rest of his studies at Exeter University.
